Monett R-1 School District is accepting applications for an elementary counselor for the 2021/2022 school year at the Monett Elementary School  campus that houses grades Pre-K - 2nd. The applicant for this position will be expected to perform the following duties and/or possess the following skills:

*guide and counsel individual students and/or small groups of students,

*implement the elementary school guidance curriculum,

*consult with teachers, staff and parents regarding meeting the developmental needs of student

*participate in or conduct activities which contribute to the effective operation of the school

*assist with assessments/MAP test coordinator, assist with new student enrollment and student records

*assist in the Teacher Assistance Team and referral process

*communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members

*have effective organizational and time management skills

*facilitate meetings with parents, teachers and students to write behavior plans/plans for success

*follow the Conscious Discipline and Behavioral Intervention Support Team (BIST) Philosophies

*facilitate professional learning opportunities for staff.

The applicant should possess a valid Missouri teaching certificate in the area of elementary counselor.
