The Monett R-I School District is seeking an instructional coach for the 2021-22 school year at Monett Elementary School. Successful applicants need to have strong instructional background and be willing to work within a collaborative environment. Although not required, training in Guided Reading is preferred.
Purpose:The Instructional Coach plays a critical role in improving student achievement and teacher growth in the Monett R-I School District. The role of the coach is to enhance teacher capacity by encouraging growth in the area of instructional effectiveness in the classroom. They promote self-reflection, provide guidance and structure when and where needed. Coaches are expected to work collaboratively as a team and with building and district administration. They are not an evaluator of classroom teachers and not considered supervisory positions.
Job Responsibilities and Roles:
- Support the instructional development of classroom teachers
- Model lessons, informally observe (non-evaluative) lessons and provide feedback that promotes teacher reflection and growth,
- assist with planning and pacing,
- differentiated lessons, connecting curriculum with effective classroom instruction,
- leading whole group PD and training,
- Assists teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc to support classroom instruction and student learning
- Build positive relationships with teachers, administrators and other coaches
- Proactively Create an intentional schedule with building administrators
- Provide guidance to classroom teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction
- Collaborate with building administrators and contribute to Professional Learning activities as needed
- Commit to personal growth in the area of effective classroom coaching
Qualifications:
- Missouri teaching certification
- Minimum 5 years experience teaching in the classroom with a record of successfully impacting student achievement
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Models continual improvement, demonstrates lifelong learning and applies new learning to help all students achieve
- Experienced coaching teachers preferred
Length of Contract: 9 month regular contract, 120 hours of additional time with stipend.
Salary: Placement on regular teacher salary schedule + 2 additional weeks and $3,500 stipend for 120 hours of additional time to be determined by administration
